Vivek Paul appointed Fed Reserve Bank SFO Advisory Council Member

IN oblivion after quitting the high-profile post of vice chairmanship of Wipro in 2005, Vivek Paul, who in 2004 was rated by Time as top global business influentials, has been appointed as an Advisory Council Member of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Paul, who is now a partner at the Texas Pacific Group, has been appointment for a three years term till 2009. John P. Connolly, national president of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, has also joined Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Economic Advisory Council along with Paul.

Paul will represent his industry by providing observations and opinions to members of the board of directors and management of the San Francisco Fed on the present state of the economy, media release said. The Economic Advisory Council provide information on the current and pending developments in the regional and national economy.

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, provides wholesale banking services to financial institutions throughout the nine western states. As the nation’s central bank, it formulates monetary policy, serves as a bank regulator, administers consumer protection laws, and is fiscal agent for the US government.
