Lalit K. Jha is a journalist based in Washington, D.C., and Editor for North America at the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS). He covers American politics, foreign policy, national security, U.S.–India relations, and the Indian American community.
He served as Chief U.S. Correspondent for the Press Trust of India from 2009 to 2025. His reporting has taken him to the White House, Congress, the State Department, the Pentagon, and the United Nations. Earlier, he worked with publications including The Hindu, Hindustan Times, and The Indian Express.
He is also the founder of 5WH and New India Abroad.
