Hagel replaces US units in Afghanistan

US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Thursday issued his first deployment orders on Afghanistan, his spokesman said.
“Secretary Hagel approved his first deployment orders this afternoon, including orders to deploy combat arms and combat support units to Afghanistan to replace existing units,” Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said.
Hagel was sworn in as defense secretary on Wednesday. Today was the second day at the Pentagon for the Vietnam War veteran, whose was confirmed by the Senate after a lengthy and rancorous debate.
